Description
My Pain Alert(R) Scale Poster Chart Set is four 8.5 x 11 inch one-sided posters with Word version of MPAS above Picture icon MPAS. Each poster is intended to be placed in view of the patient, so the patient can initiate a pain care request. Four posters are included in each purchase order as having several My Pain Alert(R) Scales helps families provide consistent care. This tool was designed for patients experiencing limited memory conditions. The blank back side of each poster can be laser printed with Pain Level words and phrases in the patient’s first learned language which is often more usable by the patient after a brain damaging event. The posters make getting the right care easy rather than hard work for the patient. Having pain words visually available can help recover this essential language skill.
Poster paired with pain scale level story practice can support health care participation by developmentally disabled adults.
Preschool children can be introduced to this pain scale through reading Bea- the Best Kind of Patient picture book.

I recommend MPA Scale as someone with a chronic pain condition and Autism. I find it a very helpful visual tool because I can’t understand the general faces pain scale. It is not enough clear explanation of the degree of pain and what will help. With MPAS, if I feel overwhelmed, I can just point to the level of pain. Then the doctors and nurses after surgery can help to manage my pain. Haylee Milne. young patient. February 17 2020.
